Story Street is a writers’ collective, established in 2024, who believe in the power of story, that writing is art, and craft can be learned and improved. This summer, Story Street Writers is challenging creators to unpack their baggage for their free-to-enter micro-fiction contest.

Writers aged 18 and older are invited to submit their best story on the theme “Unpacked” (interpreted however they wish) within a strict 100-word limit, excluding the title. The submission window is strictly limited to the first 1,000 entries, allowing only one original, previously unpublished submission per person.

The grand prize winner will receive $100, and three runners-up will receive $25 each, with all four selected pieces earning publication in the Story Street Review. Writers retain full ownership of their work, granting only first publication rights if selected.

The winners will be announced on August 15, 2026, via the website and newsletter, and notified individually by email.

Is this competition legit?YES! – Based on our research this event is legitimate and the organizer is well established. However, as with any event, please remember to do your own research before submitting your work.
